Robert Cornell, LMFT Lic. # 42969

I have had a rich journey through some fifty years of spiritual practice and engaging in and learning from many forms of psychotherapy. Like many people today, my journey has not conformed to older rather rigid categories of religious doctrine or psychological theories. I was raised Methodist, practiced as a Zen Buddhist monk for ten years, and now follow a spiritual tradition that integrates psychology and contemplation. My graduate studies in psychology at the University of Santa Monica were based on a spiritually oriented eclectic path that included many different schools of psychology and worked in a framework of Forgiveness, Release of Limiting Beliefs and Loving Connection to Self and others.

Now my Psychotherapy approach includes the practices of Mindfulness, Self Compassion, and Somatic Awareness. I have a strong focus on helping those who experienced some form of neglect, trauma or abuse in childhood, which embraces many skills, including EFT or Tapping as ways to heal traumatic memories.
